Carbon Offset Program
Add sustainability to your drive
We partnered with Terrapass. Now every Astralis rental can support projects that reduce carbon emissions. The process is simple: opt in while booking and we handle the rest.
Rent. Drive. Offset.
Every journey has an environmental cost. We’re not going to pretend otherwise. The transportation sector accounts for over 20% of global greenhouse gas emissions, and car rental is part of that. Until electric and hybrid vehicles become the norm, internal combustion engines will dominate rental fleets — including ours. Carbon offsetting isn’t a perfect solution, but it’s a real one, and it’s available today.(1)
How It Works
Our “Rent. Drive. Offset.” initiative is designed to make sustainability accessible and impactful for everyone. When you opt in to our carbon offset program at booking, we estimate the daily carbon footprint of a typical passenger vehicle and match it with contributions to verified, high-impact projects through our partnership with Terrapass — a recognised leader in sustainability solutions.(2) These projects include forest restoration and protection, landfill gas capture, and refrigerant recycling. Every carbon reduction is certified and traceable. Nothing changes about the way you travel. You just help reduce global carbon emissions.
The Projects
Through Terrapass, your offset contribution goes toward nature-based projects that protect and restore natural ecosystems, capture CO₂, and improve biodiversity. it also supports engineered projects that prevent greenhouse gas emissions and reduce pollution in local commnities. These aren’t theoretical commitments — they are active, independently verified projects with measurable outcomes.
- Restauracion Forestal (Mexico, Yucatan)
- Elk Forestry Project (US, Kentucky)
- Gaston County Landfill Gas Destruction Project (US, North Carolina)
- Tahuamanu Amazon REDD+ Project (Peru, Madre de Dios)
- A-Gas V14 (US, Texas)
For Businesses
Companies face growing pressure to account for Scope 3 emissions — those that occur outside direct operations, including employee travel and rented vehicles. Our program makes that straightforward. Opt in at the fleet level, receive detailed impact reporting for your stakeholders, and demonstrate a genuine commitment to your ESG goals without adding operational complexity. Sustainability and convenience don’t have to be in conflict.
Our Commitment
Every offset contribution made through Astralis is backed by Terrapass’s verification standards — so you can trust that what you’re paying for is real. We’re not offsetting our way out of responsibility. We’re using it as a bridge while the industry catches up.
